Steelstown celebrate the Feast of St Colmcille

The children of Steelstown Primary School celebrated the feast of St Colmcille on 9th June by tuning in to a beautiful Mass celebrated by Bishop McKeown at St Columba’s Long Tower Church via webcam. The children made Colmcille bunting to decorate their classes, explored the life of the Saint, learned some Irish vocabulary to tell the story of Columba’s journey to Iona and even to bless themselves in the Irish language. A big thank you to Muinteoir John for his fantastic video to help the children do this. We all enjoyed this very special day.
