Children in Crossfire Copper Trail

8th Dec 2023

Due to the success of the Copper Trail, we are continuing this initiative monthly. If you have any charities close to your heart that you would like the school to support please contact Mrs O'Doherty via rodoherty985@c2ken.net to nominate a charity for the new year.

In December, we are supporting Children in Crossfire's Advent appeal. Please donate any spare change you have to the donation bottle at the front of the school or via collection box in each classroom. Every little helps! The story of Children in Crossfire, has its roots in what began as a tragedy and ended as a triumph of the human spirit to overcome adversity. Founded in 1996 by Richard Moore who was blinded as a 10 year old boy in 1972 during the Northern Ireland conflict, Children in Crossfire supports projects helping some of the most vulnerable children on the planet that suffer from the injustice of poverty. CIC works in partnership with local organisations in Tanzania and Ethiopia to improve the lives of the most disadvantaged young children, with a particular focus on Early Childhood Education (ECE). In Ireland, CIC work in schools and with the general public to raise awareness of global justice issues, and advocate for increased investment in ECE.

Thank you for your continued support.
