St Brigid's Cross
28th Jan 2026
Brigid of Kildare first made a cross from rushes, and for the centuries that followed, it has been customary on the eve of her Feast Day (1st February) for Irish people to fashion a St. Brigid's Cross. St. Brigid's Cross is thought to keep evil, fire and hunger from the home in which it is displayed
