How to apply for a school place for September 2022

The Education Authority has issued information on the key dates in the admissions process.

Parents are reminded that the application portal for Primary 1 and Nursery places in Northern Ireland for September 2022 to June 2023 opens on Monday 10th January at 12 noon.

Before starting to complete your child’s application you should read carefully the admissions criteria for the Nursery school / primary school.

You should complete your application providing all the relevant details about how your child meets the Nursery school/Primary school’s admissions criteria.

Online applications will open at 12noon on Monday 10 January 2022 and will close on at 12noon on Friday 28 January.

It is important that you:

• Read the Admissions Criteria.
• Check what supporting documentation is required.

Primary School

Children born between 2 July 2017 and 1 July 2018 will be due to start Primary One in September 2022 as they will be of school age and parents/guardians are to apply for a place in a primary school.

You can log in to the online application to view the outcome of your child’s application for a Nursery / Primary 1 place on Thursday 28 April.
