May Copper Trail - Action Duchenne
A reminder that our Copper Trail this month is supporting Action Duchenne. Please bring any spare change into school to your child’s class teacher or to the donation bottle at the front of the school. Every little helps! Here’s a little bit of information about the charity to tell you about their vision and the work they do:
Action Duchenne has a very clear vision: a world where lives are no longer limited by Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
They have three core objectives and are proud that they spend 93.8p in every £1 raised on charitable activities (support, research and education)
- Developing effective treatments for all by funding research, supporting clinical trials and campaigning for access.
- Building a community by uniting and supporting families, educating about Duchenne and raising the profile of the condition.
- Striving for a more inclusive society promoting the importance of human equality, day to day acceptance of disability and accessibility.
While Action Duchenne hope that research and clinical trials will one day lead to a treatment, or cure, for Duchenne, they believe it is vital to support families living with the condition today. They support families from diagnosis through their whole Duchenne journey.
